Jana Babincová

 Her paintings are based on forms of geometric abstraction with sharp lines and edges. The coded contents themselves, however, are usually very personal and emotional: From the text of a prayer in five languages to a letter for an unborn daughter to the tones of a favorite song. In her recent projects, Babincová has expanded the theme of coded images considerably, entering into other media, exploring the relationship between painting, sound, and the object or performance, emphasizing the spatial and site-specific dimension in her thinking.
