David Helán

David Helán is based in Prague and Brno. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Besides others, he was on study stays at the prestigious Cooper Union in New York and at Middlesex University in London. His portfolio includes solo projects and exhibitions in the Czech Republic as well as in a number of foreign institutions and galleries. David Helán's artistic personality synthesizes two different influences, performance art and cabaret entertainment, in an original manner. His live events, which are always careful documented by video or photography, feature elements of the Theater of the Absurd with overlaps of purely contemporary themes and serious issues.
