Pragovka Gallery and The White Room presented a book called Rusty Mouth / The Magical Decade of Pragovka at this year's Korzo, where editors Lucie Nováčková and Pavel Tichoň provide a retrospect of ten years of artistic life at Pragovka.
The first part of the book talks about the creation of a community of artists who have helped to create Pragovka, a bustling district, with words from Charlotte Kotík, Dagmar Šubrtová and Petr Vaňous. Among other things, the book maps out the origins of the legendary Kolben Open event, with its ninth edition taking place this May. The second part of the book then recalls five resident exhibitions described by curators Karel Srp, Petr Vaňous and Pavel Tichon. The end of the book introduces each artist, based at Pragovka, individually with lots of interesting deatils about their work or life.
There are a total of 22 unique covers of the book, each presenting a photo or reproduction of an art piece created by one of Pragovka residents such as Karima Al-Mukhtar, Tadeáš Kotrba or Alessandra Svatek and others. On top of that, Pragovka Gallery has also prepared a unique limited edition with originals of individual works. If you purchase such a limited edition, the work of art will be part of a private collection. The next limited edition auction will take place on 7.5. at Kolben Open. You can order the magical decade of the one and only Prague’s art district in the classic (unlimited) edition by e-mail email@example.com.
