In her artistic research, Giulia Cacciuttolo is interested in exploring and revealing the emotional and mnemonic power of the object. Through sculpture, installation and analogue photography, Cacciuttolo explores the potential physical relationship between memory and object and between individual and collective experiences. "Rituals" is an exploration of loss and grief and the lack of shared rituals in our contemporary society that would enable and legitimize the act of leaving. It becomes an exploration of the personal and intimate rituals devised to exorcise certain feelings and provide closure.
