Tomáš Ruller

Tomáš Ruller studied Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He is an artist working in the field of action art and new media. He started his artistic career in the mid-1970s during which he began his first artistic actions. In the 1980s, he became one of the pioneers of Czech art focused on new media and video art. Throughout his career, Ruller has deliberately combined modern art disciplines such as new media and video art with traditional approaches including sculpture, object art, installation, painting, and photography to create original hybrid forms of artistic presentation.
