Lawrence Wells Ateliér

Lawrence Wells is an American painter living permanently in the Czech Republic. He studied painting at Indiana University and received his MFA from the University of Mississippi (1992). Wells was one of the first wave of American expats in Prague in the 1990s. He returned to the U.S. in 1993 and after eight years in New Orleans and New York, he came back to Prague in 2001. Between 2007 and 2008, he was a resident at MeetFactory. His recent works include the site-specific project Konec večírku (2018), curated by Jan Freiberg. He works in his studio in Pragovka in Vysočany and exhibits in Europe and the USA.
