The OPEN CALL ARTIST IN RESIDENCE 2024 is open to those interested in a creative residency at Pragovka in 2024 from the Czech Republic and abroad. More information about the conditions and the application form can be found HERE.

Theme: 
Growth/degrowth is a process consisting of various changes and ways - whether we are examining changes in the size of bodies or in the course of an individual's development during the Anthropocene or focusing on the process associated with the acquisition of a certain mass. We are looking for reflections on the notion of growth/degrowth in different senses and levels(physical, personal, social, cultural, political, ecological, even economic). How can we understand this process? And is growth always positive? Is the starting point of not growing always understood through the ecological crisis as looking at a political problem?

The current system, based on a constant increase in production and consumption, seems almost unsustainable. Must stagnation mean death? Can growth lead to fasting? What if something grows, grows back or grows over? The theme should not only expand the boundaries of a certain problem that is unobtrusively approaching us, but also show the possibilities of positive development, happiness, slowing down, and coming back to ourselves.
