As part of its Mimo obraz (Beyond the Image) series, Pragovka Gallery presents a lecture by philosopher Eliška Fulínová, Welcome to the Anthropocene!

We will begin by asking whether the Anthropocene truly represents a new epoch shaped by humanity, when it might have begun, and whether it may already be drawing to a close.

We will explore the Anthropocene not only as a geological concept, but also as a way of seeing the world – a new (yet familiar) perspective that challenges traditional divisions between nature and culture, science and art, or reason and emotion.

Finally, we will reflect on whether the Anthropocene is also characterised by a particular mindset and sensitivity. Could we understand it as an epoch emerging from experiences of vulnerability and profound uncertainty, compelling us to seek new answers even to questions we considered settled not so long ago?

The lecture will be held in Czech.
