Performance by Tereza Vinklárová

The performance from Tereza Vinklárková's residency consists of a sample of scenic and costume elements created during the month-long residency at Pragovka Gallery. These sub-aspects are a preliminary preparation for a short film story under the working title Itstory. The main characters of the story are distressed ethereal beings, called wanderers, appearing in the middle gender. These beings wander through the bowels of humans, seeking explanations for their health complications and longing for the right indication to resolve their problems and subsequent healing. Short dialogues based on poetic text reveal stories that deal with the internalized attitudes of a patriarchal society towards human mental health.

The project raises questions about the systematic suppression of emotional experience and psychosomatic problems that underlie not only a form of discrimination within a given social order, but also the generational frustration of not being able to express one's own dissatisfaction. Itstory creates a new narrative that speaks from the perspective of one's own body and its experiences.
