Hanging Without Walls / Summer cinema

Under the baton of Pragovka Gallery, you will have the opportunity to watch a total of 13 films. This time, with the overarching theme of growth and fasting, it will be screened every Tuesday after dark in the Max Space.

The Kafkaesque process of reconstruction of the Slovak National Gallery took more than ten years. For too long, it seemed that the light at the end of the tunnel and the completion of the building remained in sight. Throughout these years, Alexandra, the director of the gallery, together with her father, the architect of the reconstruction, and her colleagues, fought to make the dream of Slovak society of a modern cultural institution come true. A crazy roundabout of political pitfalls, permit delays and battles with builders has led Alexandra to question more than once whether her efforts are even worthwhile.
