The exhibition Zachytit nit by Aleksandrina Yordanova and Stanislava Karbušická offers a conscious alternative to the relentless competition for attention that shapes our everyday lives, both offline and online, and is equally characteristic of today’s contemporary art scene. The artists seek to free themselves from this pressure and establish their own rules for their artistic practice. Their work is rooted in a focused engagement with materials, haptic experience, and meticulous craftsmanship. Rather than drawing confidence from external pressures, they find it in inner stability and perceptive observation.
Through symbols, layering, and absence, Stanislava explores themes of power, fear, and care. In her quiet, contemplative figures, Aleksandrina moves towards a sense of peace, which she understands not as a state, but as an orientation.
Neither artist, however, seeks a point of stability by escaping from the world. On the contrary, they find it through attentive observation of human society, the unassuming naturalness of everyday life, and the continuous cycle of growth and decay.
For them, Zachytit nit does not mean escape, but rather a conscious decision to reconnect with the true flow of life. The spatial installation invites visitors to catch hold of this thread as well. The exhibition does not seek to explain; instead, it creates a space in which to slow down, let the gaze linger, and fully experience the present moment.
