Aurélie Bayad a Juliane Foronda / residency presentation

Aurélie Bayad and Juliane Foronda's residency entitled Est-ce que t'es bien mise? opens a space for a deeper exploration of the relationship between aesthetics and care, through the tension between coping and healing in different settings. The residency project focuses on researching beer baths from historical and contemporary perspectives, including their inclusion in global spa and sauna culture. The main questions revolve around themes of indulgence, intimacy, mental health and female friendship, questioning what resources people seek for care and what their actual benefits are. The residency will culminate in a community event inspired by Czech beer spas, and outputs include audio, video and text works that reflect on the research findings.
