Please accept our invitation to the accompanying program for the group exhibition Breaking the Course of the European Boomerang on Saturday, November 29, starting at 6 p.m.

In addition to the catalogue launch and a guided tour of the exhibition with curator Una Mathiesen Gjerde, the program will also include an Artist Talk with representatives of the art collective lilky_60200.

The lilky_60200 collective (Kristýna Gajdošová, Monika Rygálová, Bára Šimková, and Tereza Vinklárková) focuses on the precarious conditions of cultural and artistic labour, engaging with themes such as social support, rest, and collective agency within contemporary structures of power. Their practice unfolds through performance and interactive installations that employ irony, self-care, and staged relaxation as tools for critical reflection on contradictions embedded in the art world. Recent presentations include Game Over at Postpost gallery (2024), Ice to meet you at Galerie Sibiř (2023) and the group exhibition Good Job at Galerie Hraničář (2024).

Game Over takes the form of an interactive game – a maze through which the player/viewer navigates the thorny and fragmented paths of the art world. Along the way, they collect tokens that metaphorically and ironically reflect the so-called „benefits“ of working in culture. The maze opens up into four possible exits – endpoints that are not a matter of choice, but rather the inevitable consequences of long-term precarity in cultural and artistic labour. The hopeful promises of better tomorrows quickly dissolve into so-called perks such as flexible hours, free coffee all day, year-round access to an Adobe subscription, or the elusive opportunity for a solo show. Is there a way out?
